What We Do

Kim Web Photos-6.jpg

We create customized prosthetics and orthotics that improve the function of our patients’ lives.

In the office, we provide consultations, evaluations, and fittings for devices. Continued care and fine-tuning of prosthetics and orthotics are an important part of each patient’s individual treatment plan.

At amputee clinics, we participate as hand-selected members of clinical teams, where we work alongside physicians and physical therapists from Kaiser Hospital, UC Davis Medical Center, and VA to develop pre-amputation and post-amputation prosthetic care plans. By consulting with patients and family members, we help to create long-term, functional solutions for amputees.

Our History

Carman Tablada, CP, founded Professional Orthopedic Systems in Sacramento, California back in 1980. He and his wife, Melissa Moore, CPO, have continued to provide custom, professional prosthetics and orthotics care to this day.

Kim Tablada learned the trade from her father at a young age. She went on to study Physical Education with an emphasis in Exercise Science at Cal State Northridge. At Northwestern University, she earned both her degree in Prosthetics in 1991, and her degree in Orthotics in 2012. Throughout her education, she had the opportunity to work with some of the most advanced O&P companies in the field. While the experience she gained with those big companies helped her to develop her skills, she quickly understood the value of a small, personalized practice. It’s not just about having expertise; it’s about the desire to truly help people.

Eventually, Kim came back home to take over the family business. Now operating out of three offices across Northern California, she brings her 37 years of experience and knowledge together with her family’s mission, to make a difference in every patient’s life.

Our Approach

Every body is unique. At Professional Orthopedic Systems, we believe in treating each patient as an individual, with specialized, personal care.

Many of our patients are coming to us at a challenging time in their lives. Our goal is to help them regain their independence and take their life back one step at a time – and that process looks different for everyone! That’s why we stay in communication and offer our full support, through recovery, fitting, and follow-up adjustments.
